A little bit
about me:
My name in Hawaiian
is Kalike . "Saturday's child works hard for his living"
I was born and raised in Southern California.
I
was a beach bum during the summers. I spent a lot of time cruising and getting to know my
way around town. I went to college and studied Business Administration
and Human Resources. My nickname has
been Shay since I was in Junior High School. My friends and I wanted new names so that we
could be "individualistic". My best friend and I still use our nicknames to date
and we are very much our alter egos.
We Relocated to Northern California, the Wine
Country, in 1996. I took with me 2 cats, Cassie & Smokie, and a
cocker spaniel, Max. What a blast that was. I will tell you about it
one day. I got to spend time at the local wineries and got to
know the beautiful land. I belonged to the Napa County Legal
Secretaries Assoc. On April 16th, 1998
I was installed as VP of this wonderful group and enjoyed my 1 year term.
We added Smiley and Josh to the family and we lost Max to cancer.
After 3 years in Napa, we were sent back to
Los Angeles for another job transfer for Mark. A wonderful promotion and an opportunity we
could not pass up. I will really miss Napa, but I plan to visit often.
Before the move, we
added a new member to our little family,
Jazz, a
5 year old golden retriever, who
just happens to be Smiley's baby. We also have Josh, a
7 year old Golden Retriever, he
is Smiley's Best Bud. Smiley, a
retired Champion Golden Retriever has been a part of our lives for 7 years now. We love
her so! She is 11 years old and actually grins when she is happy. She loves to play
ball and play with the other animals. She definitely helps me to get into shape!!!
Whew! We lost Max in April 1998 to a brain tumor.
I love to make web pages and this place has
become my home away from home. I am an avid joke fan. So any new submissions
are welcome. My joke list is growing daily. I love to add people or jokes, so please let
me know.
Career
stuff:
I am for the moment a
SAHM. Last year we added a gorgeous baby girl to our family. She has
been a wonderful addition and our lives could not be better. ;) I am
making graphics, selling on e-bay and writing HR processes on the
side. ;)
Hobbies:
I enjoy writing poetry, telling jokes,
horseback riding, web surfing, hiking and hanging out with my friends. I also collect
Cherished Teddies and anything that has anything to do with Golden Retrievers. I use
AOL Instant Messenger & MSN as chat programs. I read books <any kind> and plan
romantic interludes with my husband. I am an avid photographer, so watch out or you may
get snapped by my digital camera and put on the photo wall. My friends never know what to
expect when I am around, as I am very impulsive and spontaneous. I may scream out a window
or sing my own version of a song or even spout off original poetry on the spot. I make my
own commercials up as well. Got a sheet for the TOGA party?
I was informed in 1997 that the poem I
submitted for a contest made the semifinals, and I have now been PUBLISHED!!!! I am so
excited!!!! The name of the anthology is Among The Roses. And my poem is on
page 141. Yippee!!!!!!!!! I am in print!!! You can see it on my poetry page however, it is
called Mist. I was also informed in late 2000 that Eyes is being published as well.

I am
an Ordained Minister as well as having a Doctorate of Divintiy and the Honorary Title of
Goddess. That is really nice. I am back in school studying Human Resource Management. I am
looking forward to a career in HR sometime in the future. I am also learning how to make
complex graphics. Almost all the images on this site and my dog's site are all mine. You
can also peek at more graphics by me on my main page.
We relocated back to Los Angeles in 1999 and
I showed Jazz in local dog shows. I went back to school to become a human resources geek it is a lot of
work, But I am happy. I became a Community Leader for Geocities in May of
1998 and the program ended earlier this year. I have also started a computer consulting business of my own. So if you need
